Alma Wasserfall

Alma was one of the first athletes to join Sterk Span coaching academy.  Her involvement  in triathlon started in 2000 as an administrator for Tshwane Triathlon Association (previously GNT) and has continued to date. During this time Alma formed part of the board of the Triathlon South Africa Association as a selector for the Duathlon team to compete at World Champs, for several years. She was also selected as Team Manager to manage the South African Team to Duathlon World Championships 7 times.

She also qualified herself as a Level 2 International Triathlon Technical Official and has had the privilege to officiate at several ITU triathlon events, which included the World Triathlon Series Grand Final in Budapest during September 2010, the All African Games in Maputo during September 2011 and the World Triathlon series in Cape Town in 2014, 2016 and 2018.  During November 2012,  April 2017 and February 2018 she was appointed as a Technical Delegate for the African Continental Cup in Zimbabwe, Troutbeck and was appointed as an official at the 2017 Sharm El Sheikh ATU Sprint Triathlon African Cup and Pan Arab Championships in Egypt.  She has also been selected by the ITU to officiate at the Common Wealth Games during April 2018 in Australia.

On top of her TSA Level 1 Triathlon coaching qualification, Alma is a fully qualified swim coach who specialises in the Learn to Swim for Kids and Adults Program and is an assistant swim coach to Michelle and Nico.

Alma is also a practicing attorney, conveyancer and notary.
